A new mural is being commissioned by Be a Tidy Kiwi, in collaboration with NZ Rail and Resene, to revitalise a neglected stretch of railway-side wall. This project seeks to transform the space into a vibrant and welcoming visual statement—one that champions civic pride, environmental care, and Wellington’s journey toward becoming a Predator Free city.

Renowned for its thriving native birdlife and ambitious conservation efforts, Wellington is leading the way in urban biodiversity. The mural will reflect this prestige by incorporating local colour palettes, community themes, and references to the city’s unique ecological identity.

As both a beautification effort and a public message, the artwork will serve as a bold reminder to “Be a Tidy Kiwi,” encouraging care for our environment and respect for the shared spaces that link our neighbourhoods and natural habitats.
